Aton said on Wednesday it signed a contract with Eastar Jet to supply its PQC-based mobile OTP solution, Quantum SafeOTP, for authentication of access rights to the airline's internal work systems for employees. It is the first time Aton has supplied a solution to an airline.

Aton has secured PQC references mainly in the financial sector, including banks, securities, virtual assets and fractional investment.

According to the company, Quantum SafeOTP protects both the key used to generate OTPs and the section where it is stored. When the server delivers an authentication key to a device, it applies the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) standard PQC algorithm ML-KEM, allowing it to guard against theft during communications.

The company also emphasised that authentication information stored on a device is protected by its white-box cryptography-based secure storage medium, Quantum SafeBOX, and cannot be extracted even if the device is lost or stolen.

Woo Gil-soo (우길수), Aton's CEO, said: "Once an authentication system is built, it is operated for years, so a system designed now will soon face the era of quantum computers." He added: "Internal employee authentication is a system every company operates regardless of industry, so we will increase the number of conversion cases across various industries."
