Meta halts \'Muse Image\' feature using public Instagram posts to generate AI images
Meta has halted a feature that generated AI images using public Instagram posts only days after launching it. Meta said on an Instagram blog the tool was no longer available, following reactions that it fell short of expectations. Users raised privacy concerns and warned it could help spread deepfake content, sharing ways to disable it on online communities. Civil groups and entertainment industry organisations also criticised the feature and urged opt-outs, calling for clear prior consent.

Meta introduces Muse Image; public Instagram images can be used for others\' AI generation
Public Instagram posts, Reels and profile photos can by default be used by others to generate AI images, unless users change settings. Meta has unveiled an AI model called Muse Image that lets users tag another account in a prompt and create images based on public Instagram content. Opt-out controls are available only in the Instagram app. Instagram says it does not notify users when content is used, and images already generated are not deleted.

Not all iPhones will get Siri AI even with iOS 27; support limited to iPhone 15 Pro and later
Apple is expected to offer its AI-based Siri, due this autumn, only on models from the iPhone 15 Pro onward. Engadget reported the upgrade will be available only on devices that support Apple Intelligence. For iPads and Macs, eligible models include those with Apple silicon, and the 2024 iPad mini is included because it uses the same system-on-chip as the iPhone 15 Pro. Users can check support in the Settings app.
