Naver is rolling out its generative AI-based conversational search service, AI tab, to all users, the company said on Thursday. Users can start AI search with one button from Naver’s main search bar, which draws an average 50 million daily visitors, and the Green Dot entry point on mobile will be replaced. Naver also added features such as in-answer map checks and real-time reservation times, and plans more functions in the second half.

Naver has rebounded in South Korea’s search market after strengthening AI search, lifting average share to 66.34 percent from 63.82 percent, with a peak above 80 percent on May 24. At the same time, news consumption is shifting from portal homepages and search to YouTube’s recommendation algorithms.
