Naver said on Thursday that GS Caltex has joined its paid membership service, Naver Plus Membership, as a partner.

Since April 23, Naver Plus Membership users earn 100 won in Naver Pay points per litre when refuelling at GS Caltex stations nationwide. As a basic membership benefit, it offers an effect of reducing fuel costs by up to 5,000 points a month.

After linking the membership once in the GS Caltex Energy Plus application, points are credited automatically when users pay with points or money using a Naver Pay QR code at GS Caltex stations. Earlier, Naver Plus Membership partnered with Uber, Socar and Aero K Airlines to expand transportation benefits.

Naver introduced the Naver Pay QR function to its Membership Pass for the first time through this partnership. Membership Pass is an authentication service that supports discounts, coupons and tier upgrades offered at partner outlets such as cinemas, convenience stores and duty-free shops. Users can handle everything from partner benefits to payment along a single journey.

Jeong Han-na (정한나), a Naver Membership leader, said, "As rising oil prices have increased the burden of fuel costs, we partnered with GS Caltex to expand benefits that people can feel in everyday life." She added, "We will provide benefits that span online and offline."

Naver Plus Membership charges a subscription fee of 4,900 won a month, or 3,900 won a month with an annual pass, and offers up to 5 percent in Naver Pay points on shopping and reservation payments. It provides 1 of the following each month: Netflix, Spotify, MS PC Game Pass, or cookies for Naver Webtoon and Series, and supports Mybox 80GB, delivery and convenience-store benefits.
