Naver, Kakao upgrade map services to counter Google Maps push with \'experience data\'
Naver and Kakao are upgrading their map services as the government conditionally approved Google’s export of high-precision map data from South Korea. Naver has reintroduced star ratings on Naver Place with anti-abuse measures and limited initial visibility. KakaoMap is prioritising verified reviews and added features to its real-time friend location sharing service. Both are seeking to secure user “experience data” to sharpen ads and recommendations and expand future uses.

Naver to provide indoor map of Gwanghwamun for BTS comeback live
Naver said on Thursday it will provide information related to BTS\' comeback through its search, map and membership services. Naver Map will offer, in cooperation with Netflix, an indoor map showing seat information and nearby facilities for the \'BTS Comeback Live: Arirang\' event at Gwanghwamun at 8 p.m. on Friday. The map will also provide real-time traffic information and multilingual support.

Woowa Youth to provide information on about 130 rider rest stops nationwide with labor ministry
Woowa Youth, which is in charge of Baedal Minjok logistics services, said on Wednesday it will provide information on about 130 rider rest stops nationwide through the Ministry of Employment and Labor, Baemin Connect and social media channels. The company said it improved access by using Naver Map’s save feature so riders can check the nearest rest stop in real time while delivering. The information is also available in its safety-driving guide.
