[Digital Today reporter Lee Ho-jung] Naver is taking part as an official sponsor of the Busan International Film Festival, linking its services from Chzzk live streaming to local information searches and on-site payments.
Naver said on the 6th it will provide online and offline services using Chzzk, Clip, Naver Map and Naver Pay (Npay) during the 31st Busan International Film Festival, running through Oct. 15.
Chzzk will exclusively livestream the red carpet and the main opening ceremony held on the day. It will also provide live coverage of major events during the festival, including the closing ceremony on Oct. 15 as well as outdoor stage greetings and open talks.
It will also run a "watch together" programme that lets viewers watch the opening and closing ceremonies and outdoor events with Chzzk streamers.
On Naver Clip, creators will visit Busan to introduce key festival spaces and local attractions in short-form videos and will also produce review content on films screened at the Busan International Film Festival.
On Naver Map, it will run a "BIFF staff picks" tab within the "Matdongyeojido" promotional exhibition, featuring 49 Busan restaurants recommended by festival staff. Users who reserve and visit those venues through Naver and then write a review can earn up to 4,000 won in credits.
Information on the festival's main spaces can also be checked on Naver Map.
For on-site payments, it will use Npay's offline integrated terminal, "Npay Connect". Terminals supporting the face-recognition payment service "FaceSign payment" will be operated at the official goods shop, market and major event venues.
Naver previously operated Npay Connect at the Jecheon International Music & Film Festival. It plans to provide the same payment infrastructure at the National Sports Festival, which opens on Oct. 16, and the Grand Mint Festival on Oct. 17.
Ju Geon-beom (주건범), entertainment leader at Naver, said, "We will support users so they can enjoy the film festival in a more three-dimensional way by connecting various services, from Chzzk's streaming and community-based viewing culture and Clip's on-site content to offline payments."
Chzzk also plans to exclusively livestream the red carpet, handprinting and the awards ceremony of the Buil Film Awards, to be held on Oct. 7 at Signiel Busan.
