TTA discusses AI-based broadcast technology standardisation strategy
The Telecommunications Technology Association (TTA) said it held a joint workshop in Seoul on July 22 to review development directions for broadcast technology in the AI era and discuss international standardisation strategies for next-generation services. About 70 participants from government, broadcasters, research institutes and companies attended. Presentations covered generative AI in production and services, a “Beyond TV” vision, and related platform and broadcast technologies. Attendees also shared Brazil’s TV 3.0 trends using ATSC 3.0.

NRIA says Korea leads international standardisation in next-generation systems communications
South Korea led talks on international standardisation in next-generation systems communications at the 49th ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC 6 meeting held in Seoul, the National Radio Research Agency said on Sunday. It said an AI advisory group proposed by Korea was created, with Korea and China appointed as co-convenors. The group will set standardisation direction, analyse linkages and gaps, and prepare a strategic roadmap. Korea also took the convenor role for WG 7.

TTA extends ICT standards cooperation and secretariat designation validity by five years
The Telecommunications Technology Association (TTA) said on Sunday that the National Radio Research Agency under the Ministry of Science and ICT extended the validity of its designation as a cooperating organisation for ICT standards development and as an international standardisation secretariat for ISO, IEC and JTC 1 until April 5, 2031. TTA said it will continue managing 32 committees and 1,137 national standards and pursue AI-based application standardisation.
