South Korea's National Radio Research Agency under the Ministry of Science and ICT will discuss directions for responding to testing and certification of the latest technologies such as AI, and ways to strengthen international cooperation, with ICT testing and certification experts from 19 countries.

The National Radio Research Agency said on Tuesday it will hold the "2026 Global ICT Testing and Certification Conference" through Sept. 4 at the Holiday Inn in Songdo, Incheon.

Now in its second year, the event will be attended by officials from government agencies and testing and certification bodies, and experts from industry and academia, from 19 countries including South Korea, the United States, Canada, India, Japan, Vietnam and Sweden.

Participants will discuss ICT testing and certification systems and policy trends by country, directions for responding to testing and certification for AI and the latest ICT technologies, conformity assessment and technical regulation for broadcasting and telecommunications equipment, cybersecurity and digital convergence technologies.

The conference will also cover mutual recognition of test reports and certification results, and ways to expand cooperation on testing and certification among countries. The National Radio Research Agency plans to reduce difficulties faced by South Korean companies due to different testing and certification procedures by country and to expand international cooperation through mutual recognition agreements and memorandums of understanding.

Chang-rim Jeong (정창림), head of the National Radio Research Agency, said, "With the development of AI and advanced ICT technologies, the importance of testing and certification is growing further." He added, "We will actively support South Korean companies' overseas expansion by strengthening international cooperation in the global ICT testing and certification field."
