China\'s AI market share surges, accelerating reset of global AI landscape
China\'s AI companies are rapidly expanding global market share with low-cost open-source models that users can download and modify, as the United States regulates access to high-performance models from OpenAI and Anthropic. Some Chinese systems are assessed as comparable to Anthropic\'s top model in certain cybersecurity scenarios. The U.S. is easing some export bans but maintains a national export-control stance. Companies globally are rolling out new AI chips, tools and systems, while demand grows for cost-efficient AI use.

NC AI unveils VARCO 3D 2.0 3D generative AI, to roll out in July
NC AI said on Tuesday it has completed development of a next-generation model for its 3D generative AI service VARCO 3D and plans to apply it to its in-house cloud-based SaaS platform in July. The company said VARCO 3D 2.0 was built from user feedback and research results since its December launch, and significantly improves shape distortion. It posted a Uni3D score of 0.449, up about 40.8 percent from version 1.1.

Science ministry says K-AI models expand into specialised fields from cancer treatment to defence and chip design
South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT said on Sunday domestically developed artificial intelligence models are spreading into high-risk, high-difficulty professional settings. It said applications are expanding to cancer treatment planning, autonomous welding in shipbuilding, defence and semiconductor design. LG AI Research is working with Vanderbilt University Medical Center on an AI system for cancer care. NC AI is introducing physical AI to Hanwha Ocean\'s shipyards, while SKT and the defence ministry are pursuing a defence-focused model.
