AI strategy panel delivers six humanoid tasks to ministries; edge chips, testbeds urgent

South Korea\'s National AI Strategy Committee held an industry meeting on humanoid robots on June 9 with robot and AI companies and academic experts. Participants discussed ways to secure domestic technological sovereignty and speed up deployment in manufacturing and services amid competition from global big tech and overseas firms including China’s Agibot. Private-sector members proposed six policy tasks, including testbeds, edge AI chips and expanded incentives, and the committee delivered the recommendations to relevant ministries.

Korea to launch cross-government research security response system, pushes new sensitive project category

South Korea will launch a cross-government response system to strengthen research security, aiming to manage risks such as the leakage of research assets and undue foreign interference as international cooperation expands. The science ministry held a meeting with related agencies and experts to review policy direction, plans and operating systems. The government plans to improve conflict-of-interest management, tighten security rules and create a new “sensitive project” category in August.

Mobilint enters public AI market with Korean-made NPU solutions

AI chip company Mobilint entered South Korea\'s public AI infrastructure market after registering its AI solutions as innovation products with the Public Procurement Service for the first time. It is the first time an NPU-based AI solution has been designated as a procurement innovation product. The registered products are MLX-A1 and MLA100, both listed on the PPS Nara Market integrated shopping mall, allowing central ministries, local governments and public institutions to purchase them.
