Z.ai unveils GLM-5.2 trained with only Huawei chips, without Nvidia
Chinese AI company Z.ai, formerly Zhipu AI, unveiled its next-generation large language model GLM-5.2 trained without Nvidia chips, using only Huawei Ascend accelerators. Z.ai said the model delivered top-tier performance on coding and agent benchmarks, nearing Anthropic’s Claude Opus 4.8. It is distributed under the MIT licence without country restrictions, supports a 1 million-token context window and is priced below Claude Opus 4.8 for API use.

Fitbit Air matches Apple Watch Ultra3 on heart rate but lags on GPS in 10 km test
Google\'s new fitness tracker Fitbit Air showed performance similar to a high-priced smartwatch in measuring heart rate and calories, but revealed noticeable errors in running distance and pace. TechRadar ran a 10 km test while wearing Fitbit Air and Apple Watch Ultra3. Average heart rate differed by 3 beats per minute and calories were close. Fitbit Air recorded a faster pace and longer distance, and offered fewer detailed running metrics.

Bitdeer sells another 206 BTC, keeps bitcoin holdings at zero
Cryptocurrency miner Bitdeer sold all bitcoin it mined in the week ended May 29, keeping its bitcoin holdings at zero for a 14th straight week on a weekend basis. The company has continued a no-holdings finance strategy it began in late February, selling weekly output and maintaining zero holdings on its balance sheet at each week’s end. It is deploying cash into data centres, next-generation ASICs and AI cloud services.
