KakaoPay supports QR subway ticket payments in Busan
KakaoPay will take part in simple payments for Busan Metro mobile tickets, enabling passengers to scan QR codes at stations to buy single-ride tickets on smartphones. KakaoPay said it will introduce dynamic QR mobile ticket payments at major stations with Busan Transportation Corp and security QR solution firm Arch Seoul. Payment methods include credit and debit cards and simple payments, with KakaoPay the only domestic service supported.

Taiwan considers sweeping controls on AI chip exports to China
Taiwan is reviewing a plan to tighten restrictions on exports of AI chips to all customers in China, potentially extending controls beyond blacklisted firms and criminalising AI server smuggling. The debate centres on how closely Taiwan will align with U.S. export-control standards. Taiwan’s economy ministry said it will strengthen oversight of strategic high-tech products and is consulting the United States on adding advanced chips to controls.

Netflix to launch vertical mobile \'Clips\' feed in South Korea next month
Netflix will introduce its vertical video mobile feed, Clips, in South Korea and Japan in July, it said on Tuesday. The feed lets users explore series, films, live content, WWE and podcasts in an interactive format. Netflix said it redesigned its app based on feedback about how members use phones and want to watch in short breaks. The company also plans themed Clips collections and will expand the feature to more Asia-Pacific countries.
