KT is expanding the data allowance and usage period of its flagship roaming products, "Share Together Roaming" and "All-Day Roaming," to improve convenience for overseas travelers.

KT said on Sept. 1 it is revamping its roaming products in line with increased overseas travel and changes in data-centric usage patterns.

"Share Together Roaming" allows families or friends to share data. Its 33,000 won plan will increase data from 4GB to 5GB, the 44,000 won plan from 8GB to 10GB, and the 66,000 won plan from 12GB to 20GB.

It is also expanding the usage period for long-term travelers. The usage period for the 33,000 won "Share Together Roaming" plan and the 19,800 won "Y Share Together Roaming" plan will be extended from 15 days to 30 days.

KT is also newly launching a 40GB "Share Together Roaming" plan priced at 77,000 won for customers seeking high-volume data. It will also expand the data allowance for the "Y Share Together Roaming" plan for customers aged 34 and under. That plan offers a 40 percent discount compared with the standard "Share Together Roaming" plan and provides an additional 1GB of data.

Data allowances will also increase for the "All-Day Roaming Basic" and "All-Day Roaming Plus" plans. The Basic line will double daily data from 500MB to 1GB, and the Plus line from 1GB to 2GB.

KT is also offering roaming customers a 10,000 won discount at lounges at Incheon and Gimpo international airports, and partner discounts with Grab in Southeast Asia. The Grab benefits can be used in seven countries including Vietnam, the Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and Cambodia. A Grab Travel Pass code will be sent by text message upon entry into those countries.

Kang Ihwan (강이환), head of KT's Customer Service Division, said, "We pursued this revamp with a focus on expanding data benefits that overseas travelers can feel most." He added, "We will continue to introduce differentiated roaming services that reflect customer usage patterns."
