Samsung Electronics posts loss at smartphone and TV units as memory prices rise

Samsung Electronics posts record Q2 operating profit, up 1,814 percent year on year

Samsung Electronics said on Wednesday it posted record quarterly revenue and operating profit in the second quarter of 2026. Revenue rose 130 percent from a year earlier to 171.5 trillion won, while operating profit jumped 1,813.83 percent to 89.5 trillion won. First-half results also surged, driven by the DS division. The company cited strong server demand tied to the spread of agentic AI and currency gains from a stronger dollar.
