Household loan cap raised to 3 percent; scraping to be phased down
South Korea’s financial authorities loosened parts of their household loan management stance by raising this year’s lending growth target to 3 percent from 1.5 percent and planning 47.8 trillion won-plus in housing supply finance support. The move is expected to expand banks’ annual capacity for household loans to around 60 trillion won. Authorities also agreed not to block scraping all at once, opting to phase it down while preparing alternatives such as public MyData.

Seodaemun Prison History Museum to unveil hologram exhibit on Yu Gwan-sun from Aug. 15
South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT said on Thursday it will unveil a permanent hologram exhibition at Seodaemun Prison History Museum\'s women\'s ward from Aug. 15, Liberation Day. The display uses AI to restore old photos of independence activist Yu Gwan-sun and other female independence fighters and render them as 3D holograms. Visitors can view the holograms without separate devices and experience interactive exhibits. Content will fill eight rooms once used to hold female detainees.

Hana Bank launches \'Nara Sarang 815 Liberation Event\' for 81st anniversary
Hana Bank is holding an event for military service members and young customers to mark the 81st anniversary of Korea\'s liberation. The bank said on Aug. 14 it will run the \'Nara Sarang 815 Liberation Event\' for four days through Aug. 17. Customers who newly issue the Hana Nara Sarang Card and Nara Sarang Hana Account during the period will receive a Burger King Whopper set mobile coupon.
