Wall Street says Tesla has effectively reached Level 4 self-driving in most conditions; is insurance the evidence?

A Wall Street analyst said Tesla\'s Full Self-Driving software has effectively reached Level 4 autonomy in most conditions. Piper Sandler\'s Alexander Potter cited Tesla\'s lower insurance premiums for heavy FSD users, preparations for a robotaxi business and disclosure of FSD subscriber numbers. He also pointed to his own long-distance trip using FSD. Critics question performance in bad weather and complex cities, and debate collision data and legal responsibility.

BYD unveils China\'s first in-house 4nm smart driving chip, supports Level 3 and Level 4

Chinese electric vehicle maker BYD has unveiled what it called China’s first self-developed 4-nanometre smart driving chip and started mass production. The chip, Xuanji A3, is designed in-house and supports Level 3 and Level 4 autonomous driving, CEO Wang Chuanfu said. BYD also highlighted integration of its God’s Eye ADAS, Xuanji architecture and algorithms, saying it doubled computing efficiency and can exceed 2,100 TOPS when running three chips.

A2Z cumulative autonomous driving surpasses 1 million km, setting Korea record

Autonomous A2Z said it has surpassed 1 million km in cumulative autonomous driving, setting the longest record in South Korea. The company said passengers on its self-developed Level 4 driverless autonomous shuttle, ROii, also exceeded 10,000. As of May 15, cumulative mileage reached 1,023,355 km and passenger numbers totaled 10,132. A2Z said the total includes operations in South Korea as well as trials in Japan and shuttle runs in Singapore.
