Amazon steps up challenge to Starlink after Leo satellite fleet passes 390 ahead of year-end service
Amazon has increased the number of low-Earth orbit satellites for its Leo internet network to more than 390 after launching 29 additional satellites. The company said the current fleet is sufficient to support continuous service across initial latitude bands and plans to start initial service by the end of this year. Amazon aims to build a constellation of about 7,700 satellites, but launch-vehicle shortages and delays have slowed progress.

Slate switches to Gotion LFP battery from SK On NMC, keeps price and boosts range
U.S. electric vehicle startup Slate has switched the battery for its electric pickup truck due for release this year from a nickel-cobalt-manganese (NMC) chemistry to lithium iron phosphate (LFP), and changed its supplier from SK On to Gotion. The company plans to use LFP packs made at Gotion’s Illinois plant, citing cost and supply-chain considerations. Slate set the base price at $24,950 and said range rises to 205 miles, while peak output falls to 181 horsepower.

Inflight WiFi satisfaction soars in a year as Starlink adoption shows results
Inflight WiFi satisfaction has risen sharply over the past year, emerging as a key factor in airline service competition. A 2026 travel survey by the American Customer Satisfaction Index showed inflight WiFi satisfaction at 79 out of 100, up from 66 a year earlier. Airlines’ adoption of next-generation satellite links, including SpaceX’s Starlink, has improved speed, stability and latency, affecting passenger reviews and corporate travel contracts.
