OpenAI launches Symphony agent orchestration layer for Codex

OpenAI on April 28 unveiled Symphony, an open-source specification that connects Codex agents to development tasks registered in work management tools such as Jira and Linear. The company said Symphony lets agents pull work directly from issue trackers, run it in separate workspaces, monitor continuous integration and prepare changes for human review. OpenAI said some internal teams saw merged pull requests rise 500 percent in three weeks after adoption.
