AI coding tool Cursor has acquired the open source coding assistant Continue.
TheNewsStack reported on June 22 local time that the deal was signed alongside the timing of SpaceX's acquisition of Cursor for $60 billion, meaning Continue also moved under SpaceX.
The terms of the deal were not disclosed. Existing Continue users can export their data until July 15, after which it will be deleted.
Continue is a startup that emerged from Silicon Valley startup accelerator Y Combinator and was offered as a VS Code extension, a JetBrains plugin and a CLI.
It allowed developers to connect AI models of their choice and pull context from their own tools such as Jira and Confluence to build a customized coding assistant.
TheNewsStack said the acquisition is an extension of Cursor's quiet consolidation push.
Cursor previously acquired the AI coding assistant Supermaven and the code review startup Graphite.
