Groupware provider HandySoft, which specialises in public and enterprise customers, said on Monday it is stepping up efforts to target the business-to-business subscription software-as-a-service market after acquiring HR tech firm WantedLab's human resources management solution WantedSpace.

HandySoft signed a service transfer agreement with WantedLab for WantedSpace. The company said the acquisition is part of its strategy to expand into the small and midsized business SaaS market, moving away from a business structure focused on the public sector and large companies.

WantedSpace is an integrated HRM solution that supports human resources and overall organisational operations, including attendance management, electronic approvals, electronic contracts and HR data management. HandySoft plans to go beyond adding functions by combining its electronic approval system with the WantedSpace HR database to build a structure that integrates management of corporate operating processes. It also plans to expand into the enterprise market, as well as the SMB customer segment, for clients that need advanced attendance and approval systems.

The two companies will continue to cooperate after the transfer agreement. HandySoft will take responsibility for operating and upgrading the WantedSpace service, and will work with WantedLab under a strategic partnership to create business synergies by combining their strengths.

HandySoft said it will also accelerate synergies with its group affiliates following the acquisition. It plans to offer AI-based document creation and collaboration features by combining the service with Polaris Office's enterprise document solution, and to strengthen links with global collaboration tools by leveraging Polaris Cloud's cloud infrastructure capabilities.

The company said its strategy is to build an "all-in-one work environment" by integrating HR management, electronic approvals, document creation, collaboration and cloud infrastructure into a single platform. It plans to boost efficiency in particular by linking with Microsoft collaboration tools such as Teams and Outlook, as well as project management solutions such as Jira.

Lee Hae-seok (이해석), CEO of HandySoft, said, "We will provide real value to the market by combining the WantedSpace solution, which has been validated through more than 15,000 corporate customers, with the technologies and infrastructure held by the group." He added, "We will present the 'future of work' with an all-in-one platform that connects essential corporate tasks into a single ecosystem, not a simple integration of functions."
