South Korea\'s three mobile carriers start early activation for Galaxy Z8 series, step up perks

South Korea\'s three mobile carriers have begun activating Samsung Electronics\' new foldable smartphones for customers who pre-ordered the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Fold8 and Flip8. SK Telecom, KT and LG Uplus started early activation nationwide from Aug. 4 through stores and official online malls, ahead of the Aug. 7 launch. Carriers said the Fold8 drew the highest share of pre-orders and rolled out promotions including points, prize events, trade-in compensation, plan discounts and device-care services.

KT pushes commercialisation of remote driving technology with Kia and SUM

KT said it signed an agreement with Kia and autonomous driving technology company SUM at Kia\'s Yangjae headquarters to push the commercialisation of remote driving technology. The partners aim to set up an operating framework to deliver the technology as a service and to identify business models for use in the private and public sectors. They plan work on service operations, data analysis, technology upgrades, exhibitions and legal and institutional groundwork.
