Kia\'s EV3 scored highest in a German electric-vehicle comparison test, beating Renault\'s 4 E-Tech and BYD\'s Atto 2, a report said. Five electric crossovers were assessed across five categories including space, comfort, powertrain, driving performance and cost efficiency. The EV3 recorded the longest real-world range at 335 km. Kia is preparing a U.S. launch, with sales planned as a 2027 model year vehicle in late 2026.

As range anxiety fades in the electric vehicle market, a new concern is emerging in the era of ultra-fast charging: drivers keep charging longer than needed, increasing costs. Volvo has called this “hotdog anxiety”. The company says faster charging and expanding high-power networks are shortening charge times, changing how drivers decide how much to charge. Analysts caution it may be too early to generalise, and access to fast charging and home charging still varies.
