Cardano joins Mastercard crypto partner program to expand payments business

The Cardano Foundation has joined Mastercard’s Crypto Partner Program, expanding cooperation in payments and stablecoins. The foundation plans to work with Mastercard and other participants on cross-border transfers, business-to-business transactions and settlement, and said the move is another step in linking public blockchain infrastructure with global money movement. Cardano is also advancing AI agent-based transaction support through Masumi and expanding x402 payment support across its networks. Developers are preparing scalability demonstrations using Leios nodes.

Arm unveils new products to unify phones, robots and servers

Arm is accelerating efforts to tie smartphones, robots and data centres into a single computing platform. At a Sept. 7 media briefing, it unveiled an AI computing portfolio that includes CSS for Mobile 2, Arm Total Design for Physical AI and the Neoverse CSS-N4 for data centres. Arm said agentic AI is driving higher CPU loads. It also outlined performance gains in its C2 CPU cluster and Mali G2 GPUs, and gave projections for physical AI and data centre adoption.

Samsung Electronics bets on zHBM by stacking memory on accelerators

Samsung Electronics is preparing a two-track strategy of conventional HBM5 and its zHBM concept as it seeks to regain leadership in high-bandwidth memory. The company is shifting to a design that stacks HBM directly on top of AI accelerators, removing the interposer that links logic and memory side-by-side. Samsung targets 230 percent higher bandwidth and 70 percent lower power than HBM4E. Commercialisation will hinge on heat management and wafer hybrid-bonding yields.
