SpaceX Starship achieves first orbit, deploys 26 Starlink V3 satellites

SpaceX put Starship into orbit for the first time on Sept. 28 and deployed 26 next-generation Starlink V3 satellites, but ended the mission earlier than planned after engine problems. The vehicle reached a low Earth orbit of about 276 km and later re-entered over the Pacific for a splashdown north of Hawaii. Starlink V3 is larger than what Falcon 9 can carry, and SpaceX said it established communications with all 26 satellites after separation.

Smart glasses need investment now to become future leaders, Qualcomm executive says

Qualcomm has placed smart glasses as the top priority in its Snapdragon portfolio, saying personal AI agents need the context of what users see and hear. Senior Vice President Ziad Asghar said agents must understand who asked, where they are and what they are doing, and that glasses and other wearables can provide that data. He compared the market to the early smartphone era and said firms investing now could become future leaders.

Snapdragon Summit 2026: Memory price burden could last for several quarters or longer

Qualcomm is looking for ways to reduce cost pressure on Snapdragon PCs as memory prices rise, as agentic AI on PCs requires a certain amount of DRAM and storage. Nitin Kumar, Qualcomm vice president of product management, said the outlook for memory prices is hard to predict and the burden could last for several quarters or longer. Qualcomm plans to broaden DRAM capacity and supplier options and optimise software with Microsoft and PC makers.
