LG Electronics Q3 operating profit up 13.5 percent to 781.9 billion won

LG Electronics posted third-quarter revenue of 23.82 trillion won and operating profit of 781.9 billion won, up 8.9 percent and 13.5 percent from a year earlier. Nine-month revenue rose 9.2 percent to 71.38 trillion won and operating profit gained 55.9 percent to 4.03 trillion won. Subscription and B2B sales increased. It flagged continued cost pressure in the fourth quarter and plans to cancel 730,000 treasury shares bought this year.

Seoul Fintech Week 2026 opens, from financial AI to stablecoins

Seoul Fintech Week 2026 opens on Oct. 26 to discuss financial service innovation using artificial intelligence and ways for fintech firms to grow. The three-day event in Yeouido is co-hosted by the Seoul city government, the Financial Supervisory Service and Shinhan Financial Group. It includes an awards ceremony for the Finovation Challenge, sessions on AI transformation and AI agents, startup demo days, recruitment programmes and seminars on tokenisation and stablecoins.

HS Hyosung Information System moves headquarters to Yeoksam-dong, sets up AX Center

HS Hyosung Information System, an AI and data infrastructure solutions company, has relocated its headquarters to Yeoksam-dong. Alongside the move, it set up an AX Center to support customer-specific AI transitions and upgraded its BMT room to strengthen product performance testing and technology demonstrations. The company said customers can experience its latest AI solutions and platforms and receive expert consulting to build tailored AX strategies.
