LG Electronics' commercial laundry appliances are rapidly expanding their footprint in Southeast Asia. LG Electronics said on Sunday it has completed supplying commercial washers and dryers to 630 stores operated by Trendy Wash, Thailand's No. 2 laundromat franchise, and plans to supply about 400 new stores opening this year. Sales of commercial laundry appliances in Southeast Asia rose 60 percent in 2025 from a year earlier, it said, with Thailand more than doubling and the Philippines up more than 1.5 times.
LG Electronics is strengthening cooperation with local distribution channels in the Philippines such as ELS, Big Wash and Express Clean. In Hanoi, Vietnam, it opened a smart laundry store called Be Laundry with local partner WW Vietnam. The store provides laundry services to general customers while also operating as a reference space where partners considering entering the laundry business can directly experience products and management solutions.
It is also expanding the business in Europe and North America. This month, LG Electronics launched six models in its LG Professional lineup of large-capacity commercial laundry appliances of 20 kg or more for the European market. The lineup consists of washers, dryers and washer-dryer combos, and AI analyses laundry weight to automatically adjust water use and drying conditions. The dryers apply a dual inverter heat pump using a low-temperature dehumidification method to improve energy efficiency and reduce fabric damage.
In North America, LG Electronics increased supply volumes this year following last year to the top-ranked laundry solutions company CSC ServiceWorks, and it has been supplying the No. 2 company Wash since 2024. The basis for expansion is its core components technology and operating platform. LG Electronics has equipped its commercial washers with an Inverter DD motor that directly connects the drum and motor to reduce vibration and noise and improve durability and energy efficiency. Its store operations platform LaundryCrew provides real-time status monitoring and remote control of multiple washers and dryers, along with error alerts and smart diagnostics.
Lim Ki-yong (임기용), head of HS B2B overseas sales at LG Electronics, said, "We will lead the global commercial laundry market by leveraging industry-leading technology and proven management solutions."
