Micron warns global memory shortage could worsen through 2028
A global memory supply shortage could worsen beyond next year and last through 2028, driven by rising demand from AI data centres and emerging “physical AI” such as robots, an analysis said. Micron forecast that memory and storage supply-demand conditions in 2027 and 2028 would be much tighter than in 2026. It said demand is rising despite efforts to expand capacity and expects demand to exceed supply in DRAM and NAND.

SK hynix says it will assess shareholder impact first amid dual listing concerns
SK hynix addressed controversy over a potential dual listing tied to the use of capital at Solidigm. The company said the method of raising funds for investment in Solidigm has not been decided and that the benchmark for all decisions is the long-term value of existing shareholders. It said Solidigm’s capital use will be determined after reviewing SK hynix’s overall investment plans, financial position and capital allocation, and that various options, including external capital, will be assessed.

Micron quarterly results nearly quadruple on AI boom, HBM demand outstrips supply
Micron posted quarterly results that beat market expectations, helped by a surge in memory demand from expanding AI infrastructure. It also issued a next-quarter forecast that exceeded market estimates, supporting expectations that shortages of AI memory could persist. The company reported fiscal fourth-quarter revenue of $54.23 billion and non-GAAP adjusted net profit of $38.4 billion, and guided for fiscal first-quarter revenue of about $61.5 billion.
