K-AI models expand on-site use from national heritage to bank branches
South Korean artificial intelligence models are spreading across industrial sites, from national heritage services to in-car voice recognition and bank branch design. Motif Technologies will embed its AI model in services for the National Heritage Promotion Agency, including the text-based image generation service HAI, selected as an official case for the AI for Good Global Summit in July. LG AI Research and FuriosaAI are running EXAONE on FuriosaAI’s RNGD NPU, while SK Telecom’s 42dot unveiled Gleo AI. NC AI will support Shinhan Bank branch design using digital twins.

Asia\'s rise clear amid global AI spread - Microsoft report
Microsoft\'s think tank, the AI Economy Institute, released an AI diffusion report analysing changes centred on the digital divide and software development. It said the share of the global working-age population using generative AI rose to 17.8 percent in the first quarter of 2026 from 16.3 percent. Countries above 30 percent increased to 26 from 18, while South Korea posted the steepest rise. The report said usage gaps between the Global North and Global South widened.

TSMC to buy all power from Taiwan Hai Long offshore wind project for 30 years
TSMC has agreed to buy all electricity generated by the Hai Long offshore wind project in the Taiwan Strait for 30 years, as AI chip demand drives rapid growth in power use. The agreement covers 100 percent of output from three offshore wind farms off Taiwan’s west coast, with capacity exceeding 1 gigawatt. The project is set for full operations in 2027. The move comes as Taiwan weighs energy security risks and accelerates renewables development.
