Samsung Display QD-OLED shipments hit 5 million units, leads premium monitors
Samsung Display said cumulative shipments of its QD-OLED panels for monitors have topped 5 million units, reaching the milestone in March about 4 years after starting mass production in late 2021. It said the average annual growth rate from 2021 through 2025 exceeded 320 percent. The company supplies about 150 QD-OLED monitor models to 20 global customers and has begun supplying a 34-inch 360Hz panel with a V-stripe pixel structure.

Memory to account for 30 percent of hyperscalers\' capex in 2026 on AI demand
Research firm SemiAnalysis forecasts memory will account for about 30 percent of hyperscalers\' capital expenditure in 2026, up from about 8 percent in 2023 to 2024, and rising further in 2027. It expects DRAM prices to more than double in 2026 and to keep rising in 2027, while LPDDR5 contract prices have already tripled since early 2025. It also projects an HBM supply shortage through 2027 and says memory costs are lifting AI server prices.

Asus to raise Q2 PC prices by up to 30 percent on parts supply shortage impact
Asus plans to raise PC selling prices in the second quarter by as much as 30 percent, Taiwan media reported, as sharp increases in memory and SSD prices combine with a CPU supply shortage to push up costs. Other Taiwanese PC brands including Acer, MSI and Gigabyte also plan average price increases of more than 10 percent. Asus executive Liao I-hsiang said parts prices could stay firm in the second half.
