Desktop fusion device achieves 11 million-degree plasma milestone toward commercialisation

U.S. fusion startup Avalanche said it has generated plasma of about 11 million degrees Celsius in a desktop-sized prototype, reaching a temperature close to the sun’s core. The company said this clears a key technical threshold for fusion, though it does not mean net energy production. Avalanche is pursuing a small, low-cost system and said it has raised less than $50 million to reach this stage. The result has not been peer reviewed.

KT applies AI ads to Volvo EX90 campaign, brand searches double

KT said on Tuesday it applied its AI and data-based advertising platform to Volvo’s electric EX90 launch campaign, lifting brand search volume and expanding test-drive sign-ups. The campaign linked KT Square, a large media wall in Gwanghwamun, with KT Genie TV’s Premium G package. KT said it offered a dedicated brand page on Genie TV with vehicle information and content, connected QR codes to test-drive applications, and ran targeted ads based on AI-driven data analysis.

KT named \'excellent call center\' for 15th straight year

KT has been named an excellent call center for the 15th consecutive year in the call center category of the 2026 Korean Service Quality Index run by Korea Management Association Consulting. The company said it was recognised for proactively adopting AI-based counselling systems and improving the counselling environment. KT said it was selected for 15 straight years in mobile communications and for 12 straight years in ultra-fast internet.
