Samsung Electronics\' Galaxy Z8 gains traction as official sales begin in South Korea

Samsung Electronics will launch its Galaxy Z8 foldable smartphone series and Galaxy Watch Ultra2 and Watch9 in South Korea on Aug. 7, the company said. The Galaxy Z8 series sold 1,440,000 units during a pre-order period from July 28 to Aug. 3, setting a record for Galaxy smartphones. About 7 in 10 pre-order customers chose the Galaxy Z Fold8. The devices feature updated displays, batteries and cameras, and buyers receive discount coupons and subscription benefits.

Galaxy Z8 sets record with 1.44 million preorders in South Korea

Samsung Electronics\' new foldable smartphone Galaxy Z8 series set a record for Galaxy smartphone preorders in South Korea. The company said the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Fold8 and Flip8 sold a total of 1.44 million units in domestic preorders over seven days from July 28 to Aug. 3. That surpassed the previous high of 1.38 million set by the Galaxy Note10 in 2019. Samsung said demand was driven by younger buyers, more women customers and preorder benefits.

Woori Bank launches four Samsung Wallet Money SIM-only plans

Woori Bank has launched four mobile plans for users of unlocked Galaxy smartphones, offering Samsung Wallet points and mobile bill discounts. Depending on the plan, subscribers can receive up to 25,000 Samsung Wallet points a month for up to 24 months, or up to 600,000 points in total, worth up to 600,000 won. Customers who register a Woori Bank account for the Samsung Wallet Money service also get a 1,100 won monthly bill discount.
