Samsung Electronics said on Saturday it will run an upgraded “New Galaxy AI Subscription Club” with enhanced benefits ahead of pre-orders for the new foldable smartphone Galaxy Z8 series.

New Galaxy AI Subscription Club is a service that guarantees a residual value when subscribers return their devices and offers benefits such as Samsung Care+ and discounts on accessory packages.

Flip Youth Subscription is offered to customers who buy an unlocked Galaxy Z Flip8 and sign up for the 2-year New Galaxy AI Subscription Club plan. If subscribers return the device after using it for 2 years, they can receive a residual value guarantee of up to 50 percent of the Samsung.com reference price. It also provides a 1-month Premium Plus pass for the language-learning app Speak.

Samsung Electronics added a new 3-year option to its foldable smartphone subscription types in New Galaxy AI Subscription Club, in addition to the existing 1-year and 2-year plans.

For 3-year subscribers, it offers “Samsung Care+ Smartphone Loss & Damage,” which covers loss as well as damage. Loss compensation is supported up to 3 times, once every 12 months, while the number of damage claims is unlimited.

During the subscription period, benefits such as free repairs, battery replacement and on-site repair service are also provided. For 1-year and 2-year subscribers, it provides “Samsung Care+ Smartphone Damage,” which focuses on damage coverage.

If customers buy an unlocked Galaxy Z8 series model, join the subscription club and return the device after use, the 1-year plan guarantees 50 percent of the Samsung.com reference price as residual value, the 2-year plan guarantees 40 percent (50 percent for the Z Flip8), and the 3-year plan guarantees 25 percent.
