Samsung Electronics is starting preorders for its eighth-generation foldable phones and new smartwatches.

Samsung Electronics said on July 27 it will take preorders for the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold8, Galaxy Z Flip8, Galaxy Watch Ultra2 and Galaxy Watch9 from July 28 to Aug. 3.

Preorders will be available online and offline, including Samsung stores nationwide, Samsung.com and mobile carrier outlets. Live commerce events will also be held from midnight on July 28 on Samsung.com, Coupang, Naver, 11st and Gmarket. The official domestic launch date is Aug. 7. Customers who preorder can receive and activate their devices from Aug. 4.

Samsung Electronics will offer a "double storage" benefit that upgrades preorders of the 256GB foldable model to the 512GB model.

Buyers of the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra and Fold8 512GB models can pay an additional 310,700 won to receive a model with 16GB of memory and 1TB of storage. The 1TB model and the Galaxy Z Flip8 512GB model will not be sold separately through preorders.

Preorder customers will also receive 10 percent discount coupons for the Galaxy Watch Ultra2 and Watch9 and 30 percent discount coupons for accessories. It will also provide content benefits including a six-month pass for Google AI Pro and a three-month pass for Welaa.

Samsung Electronics will also begin taking sign-ups for the "New Galaxy AI Subscription Club" from July 28. Subscribers will receive benefits including up to 50 percent compensation for residual value when returning a device, Samsung Care Plus and accessory discounts.

Monthly subscription fees for the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra and Fold8 are 9,900 won for one- and two-year plans and 14,500 won for a three-year plan. For the Galaxy Z Flip8, fees are 8,900 won for one- and two-year plans and 11,500 won for a three-year plan.

The Galaxy Watch Ultra2 will be released as an LTE model and will cost 969,100 won. The Galaxy Watch9 44mm model will cost 569,800 won for the LTE version and 539,000 won for the Bluetooth version. The 40mm model will cost 529,100 won for LTE and 499,000 won for Bluetooth.

Samsung Electronics will provide two 50 percent discount coupons for dedicated bands and a six-month pass for the Timeflick watch face to customers who buy the new Galaxy Watch models through Aug. 31.

Ho-jin Jung (정호진), vice president of Samsung Electronics' Korea business, said, "We will introduce eighth-generation foldable phones that bring together Samsung Electronics' foldable know-how and offer various purchase benefits."
