KB Securities donates products made by people with developmental disabilities to Green Umbrella

KB Securities has launched a corporate social responsibility initiative to support job creation for people with developmental disabilities and provide healthy food to youths from multicultural families. The company said it bought products made at Bravo Beaver, a disability standard workplace it has invested in, and donated them to the social welfare corporation Green Umbrella. The donated items include granola, yogurt bowls and nut sets.

Woowa Brothers says it will help foster a vibrant startup environment

Woowa Brothers, the operator of food delivery app Baedal Minjok, shared growth know-how built over 16 years with global startups. The company said it held an on-site exchange event on Sept. 10 at Baemin Startup Square in Pangyo, Seongnam, with participants in the 2026 K-Startup Grand Challenge. The programme is hosted by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and run by the Gyeonggi Center for Creative Economy and Innovation.

ECB raises deposit rate to 2.5 percent as oil tops $100 a barrel

The European Central Bank raised its benchmark deposit rate to 2.5 percent, citing a surge in energy prices tied to Middle East conflict and concern inflation will stay high for longer. The ECB also lifted its main refinancing rate to 2.65 percent and the marginal lending facility to 2.90 percent from Sept. 16. It nudged up its 2026 euro zone growth forecast and warned of second-round effects from energy to broader prices.
