KakaoPay will provide QR-based ordering and payment services at the 2026 Gimcheon Gimbap Festival, which opens on Oct. 23. It will enable visitors to buy gimbap on their smartphones without waiting in line at food booths. The company will also run discount and giveaway events based on payment performance.
KakaoPay said on Oct. 23 it will operate KakaoPay QR Order as the official ordering and payment method for the 2026 Gimcheon Gimbap Festival, held in Gimcheon, North Gyeongsang Province.
Users can complete payment from wherever they choose without going to a booth to place an order. They can pick up the gimbap after receiving pickup guidance via KakaoTalk.
During the event, customers who place their first order via QR Order and pay 5,000 won or more using KakaoPay Money will receive an instant 1,000 won discount. Customers who make at least three payments with KakaoPay Money via QR Order will receive one 2,000 won discount coupon per person for CU convenience stores. KakaoPay will also hold an on-site verification event on its official social media channels.
A KakaoPay official said, "With KakaoPay's own payment experience, we will make users' daily lives and festivals more special."
