Face payment gains traction as Naver Pay, Toss intensify infrastructure race

Naver Pay opens Incheon Airport Smartpass service
Naver Pay has made Incheon International Airport\'s facial recognition departure service, Smartpass, available through the Npay app. Users can pass through departure screening and some boarding gates using facial recognition after registering facial data, a passport and a boarding pass in advance. The service is available to South Korean nationals aged 7 and older, with guardian consent required for ages 7 to 14. Naver Pay will offer 3,000 won in Npay points to eligible registrants through August.

Naver Pay to supply \'Npay Connect\' to Paris Baguette, integrating payments and reviews
Naver Pay said on Wednesday it signed a partnership with Paris Baguette to introduce its integrated offline terminal, Npay Connect. The terminal supports multiple payment methods including cash, cards, simple payments, NFC and facial recognition payment Facesign. Users can write Naver reviews and earn points directly on the terminal after paying, while merchants can secure reviews immediately. The companies plan a phased rollout from company-run stores in the second half.
