Naver adds EBS e-books to Plus membership, expands partnership into education content
Naver has expanded the digital content partnerships of its Naver Plus membership to include education e-books, adding EBS e-books as a paid optional service. Members can subscribe to an all-access EBS e-book plan for an additional 9,900 won a month, offering unlimited access to more than 500 e-books plus linked online lectures and a question bank. Naver said it bundled two existing EBS plans and applied a members-only price.

Broadcast media communications commission unveils first budget plan to build \'basic media society\'
South Korea\'s Broadcast Media Communications Commission put building a \'basic media society\' at the center of its first budget plan since its launch. The commission proposed a 2027 budget and fund management plan totaling 297.7 billion won, up 34.6 billion won from this year. It plans to expand media literacy education, build viewer media centers in North Gyeongsang and North Jeolla, and bolster support for people with disabilities, while an OTT voucher scheme was not included.

Broadcast Media Telecommunications Commission sets 297.7 billion won budget, expanding AI and media sovereignty investment
South Korea’s Broadcast Media Telecommunications Commission has drafted a 2027 budget and fund management plan totalling 297.7 billion won, up 13.2 percent from a year earlier. It will focus spending on supporting sustainable development and innovation in the broadcasting and media ecosystem, building a safe and reliable digital environment, and strengthening public media sovereignty. The plan includes new funding for AI training data, transparency initiatives and expanded media education and accessibility.
