MSIT seeks participants for 2026 Autonomous Driving AI Challenge
South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT is recruiting participants from July 1 to 31 for the 2026 Autonomous Driving AI Challenge, now in its third year. The contest provides training data built under a joint autonomous driving technology project involving multiple ministries and the National Police Agency, and evaluates the performance and suitability of participants\' AI algorithms. The main contest runs Aug. 10 to Sept. 23, with teams of 3 to 4 allowed up to five submissions.

Commercial security services based on advanced AI models spread
Moves by the security industry are accelerating to offer commercial services that use large language models to help public and private organisations detect software vulnerabilities. IBM and OpenAI unveiled an enterprise AI security service, while SoftBank Group launched a product based on OpenAI models. OpenAI updated GPT-5.5-Cyber and expanded partner programmes. Intelligence agencies warned of destructive AI cyber attacks. Companies worldwide also announced new tools, acquisitions, funding and partnerships, including PQC standardisation efforts in South Korea.

KT unveils E2E Quantum Security network plan to prepare for quantum computing
KT on June 21 unveiled its future network security blueprint, dubbed E2E Quantum Security, at a special session of the Korean Institute of Communications and Information Sciences’ summer conference. KT said the plan responds to changes in AI and quantum technology environments. The strategy focuses on applying quantum technology across data transmission paths and key infrastructure, including network equipment, AI data centres and cloud, and comprises Quantum Link, Quantum Node and Quantum Vault components.
