Tesla's FSD strategy is unfolding at the same time amid technological progress and controversy over verification. As performance improvements follow the rollout of v14.3, Elon Musk (일론 머스크) stressed the safety of the next-generation v15, but questions have also been raised about the underlying data.

Tesla has begun remotely blocking unauthorised devices that activate FSD in regions without regulatory approval such as Europe, South Korea, China and Turkey. After detecting CAN communication devices, the company is permanently blocking FSD access and limiting vehicle functions to the basic Autopilot level.

In the Netherlands, Tesla is also expanding the basis for commercialisation by securing approval for supervised FSD. Safety and accountability management standards also appear to be strengthening, with a user "quiz pass" condition introduced.

Moves to change the competitive landscape in electric vehicles through strategies that combine technology and infrastructure are also gathering pace.

Chinese electric vehicle maker BYD is moving to secure leadership in the EV ecosystem by strengthening battery technology and charging infrastructure at the same time. It is highlighting the need for technological diversification even as it nears commercialisation of all-solid-state batteries, while building thousands of fast-charging sites in just a month and unveiling an ultra-fast charging model in cooperation with KFC.

South Korea's mobility industry is also pushing service expansion and technology cooperation at the same time.

Tmap Mobility said vehicles equipped with its in-car navigation solution, Tmap Auto, have surpassed a cumulative 1,000,000 units. It comes 14 years after it first supplied a navigation solution to an automaker. Its infotainment strategy of integrating an AI agent, apps and content into navigation appears to have been effective.

Autonomous A2Z (A2Z) and HL Klemove will jointly develop HPC-based E2E (end-to-end) Level 4 autonomous driving core technology. A2Z signed a strategic memorandum of understanding (MOU) with HL Klemove.

Whistle, a mobility app that provides alerts for parking and stopping enforcement, has expanded its service area to Ulju County in Ulsan. Whistle users can receive free advance text alerts when their vehicles enter CCTV-enforced parking and stopping control zones in Ulju County.
