K-AI chips put to the test as global AI startups step up push into South Korea

South Korean neural processing unit makers are teaming up with domestic cloud companies to target the AI inference market, testing whether they can secure a foothold beyond Nvidia’s barriers. Samsung SDS launched an NPU-as-a-service offering on its Samsung Cloud Platform based on FuriosaAI’s second-generation chip. Rebellions is also partnering with KT Cloud and Gabia. Foreign AI startups are stepping up moves into Korea, including Genspark and China’s Kling AI.

Douzone Bizon wins Korea Airports Corp AI platform contract

Douzone Bizon said on Tuesday it won Korea Airports Corp\'s contract to build an AI-based work innovation platform. The project will rebuild the operator\'s groupware system for 14 airports using AI. Douzone Bizon will combine its Amaranth 10 business platform with the ONE AI Private Edition solution and build an AI agent hub linking about 8,700 knowledge assets. The 15-month project will be carried out with consortium partners.

Douzone Bizon wins Korea Airports AI work innovation platform contract

Douzone Bizon said on Sunday it won a contract from Korea Airports Corp to build an AI work innovation platform. It will combine its Amaranth 10 business platform and ONE AI Private Edition public-sector AI solution to implement an AI platform tailored to the airport operator’s work. The project includes building AI infrastructure, an AI work portal and advanced AI services, and applying a zero-trust security architecture that complies with N2SF standards.
