DoorDash launches AI chatbot for ordering with prompts and photos

DoorDash has launched an AI chatbot, Ask DoorDash, that lets users order food, shop for groceries and search for restaurant reservations using text prompts and photos. The feature is designed to return results from natural-language requests instead of having users search and add items manually. It can find ingredients from recipe links and add grocery items and quantities from photos of cookbooks or lists, while also supporting reorder and recommendation tools.

Marvell, Flex to join S&P 500 on June 22, boosting tech presence

Marvell Technology and Flex will join the S&P 500 index on June 22, replacing Pool and Campbell’s Company, CNBC reported. Marvell makes semiconductor components and products used to expand artificial intelligence infrastructure, while Flex is an electronics contract manufacturer. Shares rose after the announcement, with Marvell up 5 percent and Flex up 4 percent in after-hours trading. Flex provides manufacturing services to major tech firms including Apple and Nvidia.

Nvidia to buy Kumo AI for over $400 million to secure AI models for structured data

Nvidia has agreed to acquire enterprise predictive AI software startup Kumo AI for more than $400 million, The Information reported on Tuesday. An Nvidia executive first disclosed the deal in a LinkedIn post, the report said. Nvidia will expand its portfolio of AI models optimized for its hardware and broaden a base for companies to further customize its models. Kumo builds AI models to answer predictive questions using structured enterprise data such as customer information and payment data.
