DoorDash has started a private beta of DoorDash CLI (dd-cli), a developer command-line tool that lets users order food and groceries directly from AI agents. TechCrunch reported on Wednesday that DoorDash CLI supports store search, checking discounts and completing payments.
Andy Fang (앤디 팽), DoorDash co-founder and chief technology officer, wrote on social media platform X (Twitter) that DoorDash CLI is offered via a waitlist to macOS developers in the United States and Canada.
DoorDash said it opened its ordering platform to AI agents through DoorDash CLI. Developers can add food ordering, grocery ordering and local discount discovery to their own software and services without going through the DoorDash app. They can also combine it with other tools to create new services.
DoorDash previously tested ordering via iMessage and also runs its in-house AI chatbot, Ask DoorDash. It also provides its services to AI chatbots such as OpenAI's ChatGPT and Anthropic's Claude.
