American Airlines to reinstall seatback screens, expand premium seating

American Airlines is expanding seatback entertainment screens that it had previously reduced, pairing them with onboard internet to strengthen the passenger experience. The airline plans to install screens on about 800 single-aisle aircraft, including new Airbus and Boeing jets and retrofits. New aircraft with screens will enter service from 2028, with retrofits beginning in 2028 and running into the early 2030s. It also plans to increase premium seating.
