Daedong begins manufacturing AX at Daegu plant to boost tractor capacity

Daedong is stepping up manufacturing automation transformation, integrating AI and robots at its production sites. The company said it signed an agreement with the Daegu metropolitan government for reshoring and factory AX investment. Under a master plan being drawn up for its Daegu plant, it will pursue four strategies through 2029, including restructuring production and logistics, building new AX lines, converting existing lines and establishing data and AI-based operations.

Daedong Q2 operating profit 41.2 billion won, up 64 percent year on year

Daedong said on Aug. 10 it posted record second-quarter results. Second-quarter revenue rose 12.7 percent from a year earlier to 467.0 billion won, while operating profit climbed 64.3 percent to 41.2 billion won. The operating margin was 8.8 percent. First-half revenue totalled 844.8 billion won and operating profit was 47.2 billion won. The company cited stronger product competitiveness and distribution channels.

Daedong selected as operator for national agriculture AX platform with LG CNS consortium

Farm machinery maker Daedong said on Tuesday it was selected as the final operator for the Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs Ministry-led project to build and run a national agriculture AX platform. The programme is designed to be run through a special purpose company jointly funded by government, local authorities and private firms, with ongoing operations supported by self-generated revenue. Daedong and partners plan to set up an SPC this year.
