Won stablecoin pilots enter proof stage as industry tie-ups accelerate
Partnerships among banks, fintechs, platforms and blockchain firms around won-denominated stablecoins are accelerating in the second half, with payment and settlement use cases moving into more concrete pilot tests. Companies are running proofs of concept on real-time settlement, on-chain payment flows and links between digital wallets and existing card networks. Cross-border remittances are also emerging as a key testing area. Debate continues over regulation, including issuers, reserve assets and approval requirements.

Buzzvil CEO Kwanwoo Lee (이관우) said AI has clearly boosted individual productivity, but raising organisational productivity requires redesigning workflows, roles and work methods to fit AI. Buzzvil is expanding its reward advertising business with an interaction AI agent and is encouraging unrestricted AI tool use, with token usage up 10-fold in the first half. He cited productivity gains, cost cuts and role reassignments, prioritising capability expansion over layoffs.

Bunker Kids raises 15 billion won Series A to expand AI character chat Whif
Bunker Kids, the operator of AI character chat service Whif, said on Monday it raised 15 billion won in a Series A round. Investors included Kolon Investment, Kakao Ventures and Mirae Asset Capital, among others. The company said Whif users spend an average of 217 minutes a day. It said about 40 percent of revenue comes from overseas and it aims to lift that share to more than 60 percent by year-end.
