Critics also cite OpenAI’s expected 2026 loss despite strong revenue growth. Others argue OpenAI has real customers and API-based revenue, unlike Terra.

Brookfield to launch its own AI cloud business
Private equity firm Brookfield is starting its own cloud business, saying it can reduce AI development costs. It aims to move beyond owning or developing data centres by leasing chips inside them to developers. The push is tied to a new $10 billion AI fund and a cloud company it will run called Radiant. Brookfield plans to focus on governments and companies seeking local data storage and will also lease data-centre space to other cloud providers.
