UK considers allowing retail investors access to Polymarket and Kalshi after 7-year ban

Britain\'s Financial Conduct Authority is considering whether to ease restrictions that have limited retail investors\' use of prediction markets, reports said. The review involves discussion over whether to relax a ban on binary options for retail customers in place since 2019. Platforms under consideration include Polymarket and Kalshi, which offer binary-options-style contracts on outcomes of events such as sports, politics and weather. The FCA has not lifted the ban and is still at the review stage.

Bitcoin breaks from tech stocks, moves in step with gold as safe-haven traits return

Bitcoin is showing a pattern closer to gold than tech stocks, according to an analysis. Grayscale said signs are emerging that bitcoin’s safe-haven character is resurfacing after about a year of behaving like a high-beta risk asset alongside AI-related stocks. Its 90-day correlation with the Nasdaq 100 has dropped to about 33 percent from above 60 percent, while correlation with gold has risen to above 50 percent from near zero early this year.
