EV sales top gasoline and diesel combined in EU auto market for first time

Battery-electric car sales in the European Union topped the combined sales of gasoline and diesel cars for the first time, as EVs become more price-competitive and automakers expand lower-priced models. In the third quarter, EU battery-electric sales reached 710,580 vehicles, about 55,000 more than the combined 655,540 gasoline and diesel total. EV market share rose to 27 percent in the quarter, while hybrids still sold more than EVs.

Tesla gets German backing for EU-wide approval push, plans FSD name change

German regulators have backed an EU-wide approval process for Tesla\'s Full Self-Driving (FSD) driver-assistance system after talks with the company, raising the chances of faster expansion in Europe. Germany and Tesla agreed FSD could exceed speed limits by up to 10 percent. Officials also raised concerns the FSD name could mislead users, and Tesla proposed renaming it \"Tesla Assisted Driving\". The talks do not mean immediate approval in Germany or the EU.

Spotify expands audiobooks to 180 markets, including South Korea

Spotify is expanding its audiobooks service to more than 180 markets worldwide, up from 22, with South Korea included. The rollout begins on Tuesday and will be completed by the end of 2026, covering Europe, the Americas, the Middle East, Africa and Asia. New markets will get more than 350,000 titles and support for more than 120 languages. The Audiobooks+ add-on has surpassed 1 million subscribers and $100 million in annual recurring revenue.
