Vice PM Bae holds talks in Belgium with EU on AI, science and technology cooperation

South Korea\'s Vice Prime Minister Bae Kyeong-hoon (배경훈) met a European Union executive commissioner in Brussels to discuss ways to expand cooperation in artificial intelligence and science and technology, the science ministry said. He accompanied President Lee Jae-myung on a state visit to Belgium and the EU. Bae also met Korean researchers at IMEC and discussed Horizon Europe participation, joint research in AI-driven innovation, advanced biotech and quantum technology, and wider researcher exchanges.

Anthropic expands Mythos access to 150 new organisations in 15 countries, including Samsung, SK Hynix and SK Telecom

Anthropic is expanding Project Glasswing, an initiative that uses its AI models to help organisations find vulnerabilities and prepare response measures, to 150 organisations in more than 15 countries, TechCrunch reported. Anthropic provided access to Claude Mythos Preview to 50 initial partners in early April, including the U.S. government. New participants include companies in power, water, healthcare, telecommunications and hardware.

Chinese electric vehicle makers are intensifying their overseas push, expanding exports and moving to build local production bases in Europe. BYD topped 130,000 overseas exports in April and is linked to possible moves involving Stellantis facilities, while Xpeng is reported to be pursuing a Volkswagen plant. In Germany, companies report high satisfaction with electric trucks. By contrast, Honda and Volkswagen are slowing electrification plans. Tesla is advancing FSD expansion while facing transparency and safety disputes.
