Trump says no alternative to coal as White House plans $700 million to revive industry
The White House is reportedly planning to inject $700 million in additional public funds to support the U.S. coal-fired power industry, including restarting shuttered plants and building new coal plants. The plan, to be approved under the Defense Production Act, includes support for 13 existing plants and construction of two new facilities in Alaska and West Virginia. Donald Trump said coal has no real alternative and criticised renewable energy.

LG Electronics expands training for heat pump engineers in South Korea
LG Electronics is stepping up efforts to train specialist engineers in South Korea in line with the launch of new heat pump boiler products. It said it held professional training on installation and maintenance for domestic heating, ventilation and air-conditioning engineers at its HVAC academy in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi Province. The company plans to run training nationwide and said it has trained more than 4,000 people since 2014 and has more than 1,000 service engineers at Hi-M Solutek.

Tesla Cybercab begins wide U.S. tests as sightings spread
Tesla has begun broad testing of its autonomous robotaxi Cybercab by placing vehicles across major U.S. cities and outlying areas to gather real-world driving data. Media reports said the new self-driving vehicle has been spotted in locations with sharply different geographic conditions, including Austin, Alaska and Wichita. The largest cluster was in Austin with 34 vehicles, with smaller numbers in the San Francisco Bay Area and Chicago, and single vehicles in cities such as Washington, Buffalo and Boston.
