Nvidia invests in India\'s SimplySmart valued at $100 million
Nvidia has invested in Indian startup SimplySmart, which develops inference software aimed at cutting AI model operating costs and improving GPU utilisation. TechCrunch reported SimplySmart raised $14 million in a Series B round led by Dallas Venture Capital, with Nvidia, Accel, Shastra VC and Micromax participating. After the share issuance, the company was valued at about $100 million. CEO Amritanshu Jain said revenue run-rate rose 14-fold in six months to an eight-digit dollar level.

Modal to adopt Nvidia\'s Vera CPU, says AI agent workloads double
Nvidia has secured AI cloud startup Modal as a customer for its CPUs after Modal agreed to use Nvidia\'s new Vera processor to run AI agents, Reuters reported. Modal had previously handled the work only on Intel and AMD chips. Modal said early tests showed Vera doubled AI agent workloads. The shift requires major software changes, Reuters reported. Modal recently raised $750 million and was valued at $15.75 billion.

Rivian spinout robotics startup Mind Robotics hires Doug Field
Mind Robotics, an industrial robotics startup spun out by Rivian CEO RJ Scaringe, has appointed Doug Field as president. Field, who led Tesla’s Model 3 program and later worked on Apple’s car project and Ford’s EV, digital and design organization, will oversee product, engineering and operations with Scaringe. The company has raised more than $1 billion in under a year and is developing foundation models and dedicated robot hardware for manufacturing work.
